This original Percival Lafer MP-93 was originally purchased from a local vintage dealer here in Chicago.
We couldn't let it be discarded. The solid Brazilian imbuia frame is still beautiful, and even after all these years, the original high-density polyurethane foam has plenty of life left in it.
This MP-93 will be completely restored before going to its new home. The frame will be fully disassembled and carefully rejoined with fresh glue and hardware. We’ll strip the existing finish, return the wood to its original tone, and apply several coats of hand-rubbed clear coat in keeping with how these pieces were originally finished.
The original foam will be steamed and worked back toward its proper shape rather than unnecessarily replaced. New leather support straps will be installed beneath it, ready to support both the cushion and whoever settles into it.
Over the next 40 years, it will slowly learn your shape and become your Percival Lafer.
Sourced in Chicago. Preserved and to be restored by us.
